Simon-Mary Vincent ist eine von der Kritik gefeierte ungarisch-britische Komponistin und Performerin, die seit mehr als drei Jahrzehnten mit einer persönlichen Sprache die Grenzen des Musikgenres herausfordert. Sie wurde mit dem Innovation in Business Award "Most Innovative Piano Music Composer UK, 2023" ausgezeichnet und von Corporate Livewire 2024 für Musical Innovation & Excellence als “Composer of the Year” nominiert. Für ihre einzigartig ausdrucksstarken und innovativen Kompositionen wurde sie von Kritikern und Radiosendern weltweit gelobt, darunter International Piano, BBC Radio 3 Late Junction, Gilles Peterson und The Wire und viele andere.

 

Sie ist seit vielen Jahren in der experimentellen Musikszene Europas aktiv und hat mit Künstlern wie Ann Rosén, Asher Gamedze, Tumi Mogorosi, Robert Machiri, Sophie Tassignon, The Occasional Trio und Nàdair zusammengearbeitet. Außerdem gründete und leitet sie das EMW Experimental Orchestra und stellte dessen Werke beispielsweise im Club Transmediale und im Tresor vor. 

 

Sie erhielt Kompositionsaufträge von u.a. Matthew Gee (Chefposaunisten des RPO), Nick Luscombe von BBC Radio 3 Late Junction, dem Amor Mundi Festival des Richard-Wagner-Museums sowie der Artist Residency Schloss Balmoral, der Humber Street Gallery, dem Mittelrhein Museum Koblenz, NGBK und dem Bayreuth Centre for Advanced African Studies.
