Symposium: SENSING - Fragmented Zones of Transition

On June 20-21st, the "SENSING - Fragmented Zones of Transition" symposium is taking place at Fachhochschule Potsdam.
Today, perception, experience, knowledge, meaning and behavior are determined more and more by sensory media. The term "sensing" outlines the resulting network of human and technical comprehension and perception, their interactions, transmissions and transistions. Sensing therefore also stands for a re-evaluation of catergories such as feeling, agentiality and consciousness, as well as man, medium and machine.

The first symposium of the research college (Forschungskolleg) focuses on the question of fragmented transition zones. Which connections, interconnections and couplings can be identified? Where do interruptions, false conclusions and limitations arise? What new modes of perception are opening up, and what specific knowledge is generated?
