The academic staff in the Department of Media Studies at the University of Potsdam and the University of Applied Sciences are involved in numerous research projects, many of which are part of international collaborations and funded by external grants. This research encompasses both aesthetic and theoretical studies. Research topics are frequently developed from courses offered by the Department of Media Studies or incorporated into teaching.
