The European Media Studies (EMW) programme was established in 2000.
EMW: One subject, two universities.
The European Media Studies programme in Potsdam is a joint programme run by the University of Potsdam (Institute for Arts and Media) and the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences (Department of Design). The University of Potsdam and the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences run the consecutive degree programme jointly and on an equal footing at both Bachelor’s and Master’s level. Students are enrolled at the University of Potsdam
People
The EMW team consists of 7 professors and 8 research assistants, as well as numerous lecturers for individual seminars and projects. The secretariats support the work of EMW.
Facilities
The Potsdam University of Applied Sciences has an audio lab, a video studio, a photography lab, a computer lab and an editing lab – all of which are available to EMW students. Equipment for various media productions can also be borrowed. The Digital Humanities Network at the University of Potsdam offers a lab for digital methods.
